[edit] Notability
I couldn't find any significant coverage of this author or his books in reliable sources. In particular, I was not able to verify the notability of Past Imperfect -- the book review index I consulted listed only a brief review in Books Magazine. The article is unsourced and was created by SPA Jmatt11 (talk · contribs), so there's COI concerns as well. The reason I don't just take it to AfD is it appears that Past Imperfect should be notable -- it's got blurbs by The Times and appears to have been translated to Swedish and Dutch. I agree with Jfire it appears Past Imperfect should be notable, although the blurbs by The Times seem to be from a personal top ten of a guest columnist in its legal affairs section, a Richard Susskind. I have not been able to verify the author was included in 'The Times' (London) list of all-time best legal thrillers, as it has proven, so far, impossible to find the list. I think Jfire COI concerns are valid based on this alone. One big issue is for an international beststelling author there is very little to verify the small amount of data covered by this article. The only verifiable contents is that the six books listed have indeed been authored by a "John Matthews". Unless the creator of this article can link to sources for the claims on notability, and expand what should be a more biographical article I would suggest just taking it to AfD RB77 —Preceding unsigned comment added by 92.2.198.237 (talk) 08:04, 4 May 2008 (UTC)
I agree with the wikipedians above. I have done some looking into this as well and was left empty handed. I'm guessing that a speedy delete would suit better than taking it to AfD. I've put a speedy delete tag intact. Amor amor (talk) 08:23, 9 June 2008 (UTC)
