What proof or source is there that marc slayton is second in command of IO right now? was it in a recent comic? if so this information should be used to help edit the backlash page. Midusunknown 04:38, 17 February 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Timeline/Disclaimer

I have added a note to the main-text between John Lynch leaving Gen13 and rejoining I.O. Because Lynch rejoining I.O. is a retcon, the timeline doesn't fit: Lynch is kidnapped and replaced by Tao in Gen13 in late 1999 (presumably Gen13 #45, the beginning of Scott Lobdell's run who introduces the Tao-storyline. Lynch is absent from issue #45, looking for a new base for the team) and Tao reveals himself in Gen13 #50 and Lynch sends his message to Gen13 by #57, late 2000 (seen recovering from Tao's brainwashing in scenes up to that issue). Max Faraday dissolves most of I.O. in Divine Intervention, also late 1999, leaving not much of a window for Lynch to rejoin. The biggest problem is that I.O.'s dissolvement plays a big part in Gen13 from issue 45 onward while Lynch is still without most of his memories. Lynch can't have rejoined I.O. before because Ivana Baiul was still in charge and I.O. had a price on his head under her leadership and Tao was still undercover. Therefore there I have made a few assumptions in the timeline:

a) Max crippled I.O. in Divine Intervention, but I.O. is not completely dissolved for months though most of its resources and manpower are gone.

b) Lynch lies to Gen13 in his message in 57, instead of trying to live a normal life, he immediately joins up with what's left of I.O. to stop Tao .

I believe these are fair assumptions to make the timeline work, but I full admit that these *are* assumptions. Any input is appreciated. Dizzy D 22:16, 12 March 2006 (UTC)

Give the man a wildstorm version of the No-Prize. Yeah, that whole period, especially when DC bought up wildstorm, started getting confusing with continuity really slipping for a while, you probably came up with the best reasoning i've heard to date. Midusunknown 07:42, 13 March 2006 (UTC)

• • We know, from the Partiots series that I.O. remained in existance for at least part of 2000. The only problem is that, during that time, Lynch was clearly not part of I.O. hierarchy.

Lynch returning to I.O. has to take place in 1999, because that's when Holden Carver is placed undercover in Tao's Syndicate. Holden met his fiance in 1996. He is placed on under cover "three years later." (See Sleeper Vol 1 #6.) This is why I keep on trying to place Lynch's return to I.O. in 1999, before Divine Right incident.

As you may recall, we had a similar discussion back at Comic Book Resources. Somebody said that Lynch rejoined I.O. in DV8 #14. Since I haven't read the issue in question, I took this person's word for it. Any idea what he was talking about? --Strannik 01:21, 17 March 2006 (UTC)

That wouldn't fit either though, before Divine Right Lynch was either with Gen 13 or on the run from Ivana. I guess I'll have to dive up my DV8 comics. Anyway the Divine Right incident was in 1998 btw. Dizzy D 02:23, 17 March 2006 (UTC)

Are you sure? I was under impression that Divine Right featured Wildcats from Wildcats V2, which would place it in 1999. (I like I said back at CBR, I never read Divine Right) --Strannik 19:08, 17 March 2006 (UTC)

You are right, I forgot about the long period between issues and simply started counting from Divine Right #1 in sept 1997 to issue no10 where they discover that I.O. has slowly been dismantled. In fact they had over 6 months of delays all in all, so it was published in 1999. THe Wildcats enter the story later though (Divine Intervention: WildC.A.T.S.) Still, Lynch was still with Gen13 in the Divine Right stories and Ivana Baiul still in charge of I.O. in Divine Right #9: Lynch is restrained by I.O. and Ivana even orders his death, but Max teleports him out. Between 9 and 10 Max secretly starts to dismantle I.O.

The most recent Gen13 seems to flush the last five or six years straight down the toilet. Someone who knows more about the reboot want to take a stab at rewriting this? --Charlesknight 18:18, 13 November 2006 (UTC)

• Why rewrite. Simply create a separate section for post-Worldstorm version of John Lynch. We don't know just how much of WSU has been rebooted (for example, notice Ivana Baiul's apperance in Deathblow #1, mention that Deathblow derived his powers from Gen-Factor in Worldstorm one-shot, etc), so until then, I suggest we air on the side of cautious inclusiveness. --Strannik 00:20, 15 November 2006 (UTC)
