Just how Chilean was he? He must have been of British extraction. He may well have regarded himself as British, like many British bred people born in the formal and informal British Empire in those days. Æthelwold 20:11, 23 July 2007 (UTC)
- Born and died in Chile, and played for a Chilean national team makes him pretty Chilean in my book! He is almost certainly of British extraction due to his education at Oxford and his surname, which is hardly a common Chilean surname from the little I know about the country.
