Gil Hatfield at bb-ref is (b1855), only 8 years younger than John, but a major leaguer 1885-95 (chiefly 1888-91), a high-level career centered twenty years later. Hard to believe, even given the early end for John. --P64 04:46, 31 August 2006 (UTC)
