[edit] Quotes

"Quiet John Harris." After a particularly poor start to a First Division season he was quoted as saying "a team emerges all the stronger after a bad patch". This might have been 73. Drew at Derby, lost the next 10 or so. He was sacked a day or 2 after that statement. (The bad patch took the team into Divison 4, after which everything has been rosy.) Has been a catch phrase in our family ever since, cf England games. I don't suppose anyone can substantiate this - must have been in the Star. "Mick Jones is confined to his Shireoaks home" was another oft-repeated line in the Star. roundhouse 16:54, 19 November 2006 (UTC)
