Talk:John Hale (Beverly minister)

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Title of "witch hunter" is pejorative, loaded, and inaccurate given that he is more prominent for later opposition to witchcraft and his book opposing it. Changing article to John Hale (Salem pastor) conforms to wikipedia NPOV standards.

John Hale (Beverly minister) is within the scope of The Salem Witch Trials Task Force. A task force dedicated to improving articles about and relating to the Salem Witch Trials.

Well, I think think witch trials are a very sad matter and I really enjoyed Arthur Miller's "The Crucible"!!!!!

I truly recomend the play " The Crucible", it is amazing... research more about the real truth about the play, you'll be amazed to find out it's not about the Salem Witch Trials... you'll be surpriced(mispelled) to know about what!

The salem witch trials were a very interesting and tragic event in America's history. It is certainly something that has happened again which is in reference to the reason Author MIller wrote 'The Crucible'. 'The Crucible' showed the events that happened in the 1950s with communism. You know Aurthor Miller was accused of "witch craft"

I loved the Crucible play and movie and I very much reccommend it. John Hale was my favorite character. 68.220.144.6 09:20, 31 December 2006 (UTC)Carla

I read the Crucible and it was a truly interesting novel especially because of the events and names that were incorporated from actual history. However John Hale was my least favorite character Until Act 3. It was unsettling to see a supporter of religion with especially limited morals and foresight. However it was satisfying to see that after the trials he realized his errors and wrote a novel. Also Abigail Hobbs, a girl featured in the novel seemed to use the trials to further herself while not taking into consideration the implications that her actions had on others. The thoughts of these characters expressed in the book are unsettling especially at this age in civilization Sept 27, 2007 10:44 (UTC)
