taught school in New Jersey for four years; engaged in the manufacture of medicine in Yonkers, N.Y.; president of the New York Pharmaceutical Association, and of the Palisade Manufacturing Co. of Yonkers, Westchester County; trustee of Wesleyan University; mayor of Yonkers in 1903; elected as a Republican to the Fifty-ninth and to the three succeeding Congresses (March 4, 1905-March 3, 1913); was not a candidate for renomination in 1912; resumed his former business pursuits in Yonkers, N.Y., until his death there on December 26, 1934; interment in Kensico Cemetery, Valhalla, N.Y.
