"There was some suspicion of foul play by...Cathy Smith." Didn't she do time for it?[1][2][3][4] That'd be more than suspicion. (What's more interesting is the suspicion it was an LAPD setup for him, deNiro, and Williams gone wrong.[5][6] Except for the LAPD's s*it-polish reputation I'd believe it.) I've rewritten that section. —Chowbok 18:17, 26 July 2006 (UTC)

Belushi played Jake Blues, not Elwood. Elwood was Aykroyd's character.

[edit] Biography Intro

I'm not sure if it's a joke, but the first sentence of Belushi's bio is kinda silly. His father seems to have been in Albania and 10 years old when John was born, in America. It almost seems like some clever bit of defacement... --Davecormier 04:06, 19 November 2006 (UTC)

The Name "Samaras" seems to be greek ("Σαμαράς"). —Preceding unsigned comment added by 62.38.221.40 (talk) 14:35, 22 February 2008 (UTC)

[edit] So who introduced him to the blues?

This page says the blues music Aykroyd had playing in the background sparked a fascination with blues music in Belushi, who, though a Chicago native himself, was primarily a fan of heavy metal. Dan educated John on the finer points of blues music, and this led to the creation of their popular Blues Brothers characters.

The Blues Brothers page claims it was Curtis Salgado.

It WAS clearly Curtis Salgado who made the Blues intro to Belushi. If you check his personal website which is linked from his Wiki page you'll find on the home page a "Belushi Connection" link. This takes you to a lengthy newspaper article which tells the whole story. Belushi is quoted as saying that Salgado entered his life at the right moment. He was "sick of rock and roll" and "needed a place to go. I hadn't heard much Blues before." It's a very interesting story. --Spyneyes 08:17, 13 July 2006 (UTC)

This page has a content tABle haLf wAy down it. To correct this, aN introduction needs to be written and then the maIn body of the article should be given its own heaDing. Pipedreambomb 02:28, 19 March 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Expansion

What really needs to be expanded is the "biography" section, the section on his death is just as long as his life! There's something really wrong with that. That's like saying the most important thing he ever did was die. If you want something to write about, try writing about Belushi's experiences filming Neighbors. It's production was very troubled, there were horrible script problems and it was an incredible failure. There is a detailed account of the production in Wired. Also, there is barely anything on Belushi's time at Saturday Night Live, which suprises me because the information should be so incredibly easy to find. Registered user 92

[edit] Michael Beck?

"He was born within two weeks of Michael Beck. Both are Aquarians.". What about it? Why is this even on the page? Every famous person in the world was born within weeks of some other famous person, I don't see why this should even be mentioned! What next..."He was born in the same country as Michael Jackson"? I get the feeling this was posted by some Michael Beck fan desperately trying to raise the profile of his page.

Ironically, Belushi was born on the date which later was to become known as his birthday. What are the odds? Gzuckier 19:03, 28 August 2006 (UTC)
Yeah, I'm going to delete this Michael Beck comment. It offends me. --163.1.223.30 10:42, 11 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Saturday Night Fever

Is any one else seeing Saturday Night Fever as his staring roles? When I go to the edit page, though, it seems to disappear.

[edit] Factual accuracy

Why does this article say that his death was caused by heroin and cocaine, and makes no mention of the fact that he drank very large quantities of alcohol? Peoplesunionpro 00:30, 4 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Trivia

I was watching Suze Orman on TV, and she mentioned that John Belushi was her roommate in college.

[edit] Belushi was of Albanian origin

No doubt they are Albanian. Read the links and see the wiki page of his brother James Belushi also. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 83.254.4.61 (talk) 11:50, 1 May 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Time in College

Is there any more information regarding his time as a student at UW-Whitewater? I would think with the impact of Animal House on his career we would have more on his history there; fraternity life, antics, grades, arrests, etc. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 72.131.127.240 (talk) 23:36, 16 May 2008 (UTC)
