My above comment is out-of-date, that is why I had struck-through it. The details needed to back up the nickname claim have since been added to the article, and I for one am perfectly happy with the SMS-kongen nickname staying on the page. Please see this Google search. "SMS King" is not the nickname, "SMS kongen" is, and I'd say it is notable with 750+ hits. aLii 03:44, 19 August 2006 (UTC)

Should have used quotation marks so this is the more correct search. Still there's a good number of articles showing that the Norwegian press have given him this nickname. Note: to be a valid nickname it doesn't have to be given to you by fans. Like I said, slander. And some of these sites are referring to this incorrect wikipedia. When I search using SMS-king [1] [], I get 98500 hits, none about Riise. This is not any nick-name regarded by LFC-fans, this is slander [User:imi2|imi2], 03:50, 19 August 2006 (UTC)

By the way of educating you; Calling someone SMS Kongen isn't slander. Publically calling someone, for instance, a thief could be libellous, if you had no proof that they were a thief. There's plenty of proof in this case, and also calling someone "Phone King" is hardly defamatory. aLii 09:26, 19 August 2006 (UTC)

Probaby because of some tabloid-ruckus he caused last summer, when it was revealed that he had send practically the same type of SMS-flirt to a majority of female norwegian celebrities, hehe.
