[edit] First or second to fly in Canada
The article has been changed to say that McCurdy was the second person to fly in Canada rather than the first. My understanding, which is confirmed by the reference linked from the article, is that Baldwin's flight was in New York making McCurdy's the first one in Canada.
Does anyone have a reference for him being second? --Cjrother 02:35, 13 July 2006 (UTC)
J.A.D. McCurdy flew the Silver Dart in Baddeck in 1909, this first flight of the Dart was the first flight of a powered aircraft in the entire British Empire, not just Canada, and therefore should be noted as such. By this precident, he was certainly not the second to fly in Canada, but rather the first in the Empire. --VonVeezelsnider (talk) 07:25, 21 February 2008 (UTC)
- I have changed that now. Cjrother 23:15, 20 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Article name
If he was "known as Douglas" McCurdy, then this article probably belongs at Douglas McCurdy in accordance with WP:COMMONNAME. Does anybody have any further comments on how he was generally known? Usage in various types of sources?
Furthermore, in any case it is totally unacceptable that that Douglas McCurdy link is still red. See WP:redirect. Gene Nygaard 13:30, 12 November 2007 (UTC)
