[edit] Dead?

Recent Deaths Page here on wikipedia reports his death, but with lack of citation. Can anyone find anything on this? Weatherman90 01:03, 9 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Alive!

On July 27, 2006, Heesters gave a concert in Bad Ischl. See Antonio Fian's review at http://derstandard.at/?url=/?id=2534855 . <KF> 20:25, 11 August 2006 (UTC)

Also still newsworthy it seems.[1]--T. Anthony (talk) 11:40, 17 February 2008 (UTC)

[edit] IMDB claim

IMDB claims that he was the favourite actor of Adolf Hitler [2]. I cannot find any evidence of that (some pages claim that Clark Gable or Peter Lorre were his favourite). However, there are reports that Heesters was Hitler's favourite actor for the rol of Danilo (in theater, not in the movies). I could not forward this to IMDB but I do not have enough "experience". Is there anyone who has, and is willing to report this to IMDB? 62.163.167.174 21:52, 30 August 2006 (UTC)

I have often heard of it and I have also read about it, e.g. in this article released by "Die Welt" (published by Axel Springer AG) in February 2004 [3] So it could be true that he was in fact Hitler's favourite actor...--Martin8721 01:30, 12 September 2006 (CET)

[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:Heesters at 98.jpg

Image:Heesters at 98.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 23:14, 5 June 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Line removed

I removed this from the very end of the "Career" section:

His longevity is not atypical for his family. One of his grandfathers died at age 108.

This has had a {{fact}} tag attached for over a year now. Lots of people have looked at the article in the meantime, but nobody has provided a reference for the claim. Thus, I don't think it should be in the article until and unless such evidence is provided. Loganberry (Talk) 16:12, 17 February 2008 (UTC)
