Johnstown J Dogs
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Johnstown J Dogs are a defunct indoor football team. They played their home games at the Cambria County War Memorial Arena in Johnstown, Pennsylvania. They began play as an expansion member in 2000 as the Johnstown Jackals of the Indoor Football League (IFL). After a dismal inaugural year, the league folded. The franchise would become a charter member of the newly-formed National Indoor Football League (NIFL) as the J Dogs. The move resulted in a much better year, as they finished second in their division. However, Johnstown received a first-round K.O. from the Mississippi Fire Dogs. After the season, the franchise folded and Johnstown was left without an indoor football team, until the arrival of the Johnstown Riverhawks in 2005.
