John Harlan Lindell (August 30, 1916 in Greeley, Colorado - August 27, 1985 in Newport Beach, California), is a former professional baseball player who played outfield in the Major Leagues from 1941-1954. He would play for the New York Yankees, St. Louis Cardinals, Philadelphia Phillies, and Pittsburgh Pirates.
In 1944 Lindell hit four doubles in a game, tied for the major league record. He led the AL in total bases in 1944, and in triples in 1943 and 1944. He also pitched during 1942 and 1953, with an 8-18 record and 4.47 ERA. His control was off in 1953--he lead the league in bases on balls and wild pitches.
