Johnnie Bolin
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Johnnie Bolin is the drummer for Black Oak Arkansas and former drummer for D.V.C. He is the younger brother of late guitar legend Tommy Bolin.
Todd Seely asked: Which of your accomplishments stands out as your proudest so far?
Johnnie Bolin answered: I didn’t get a chance to record with Tommy Bolin. I guess the period of time when I did the D.V.C stuff. I was pretty proud of that. The four of us were actually in a band. It was my band as well as it was any of the four of us. With Bear, it was Bear’s band. With Dare Force I was added later on. They were already established. Black Oak’s already established. With Chill Factor, the longevity wasn’t long enough. With D.V.C we started from square one, we got a deal.
While the above statement may be true for studio recordings, there are several live recordings released by the Tommy Bolin Archives that credit Johnnie Bolin on drums.
Johnnie Bolin was born in Sioux City, Iowa
