John Matthews (born 1948) and Caitlin Matthews (born 1952) are the authors of The Encyclopedia of Celtic Myth and Legend (2002). They have published numerous books of alternative history on Ceremonial magic, Celtic mythology, Neoshamanism, and New Age beliefs.
John worked as historical consultant on Jerry Bruckheimer's film King Arthur. John and Caitlin live in Oxford, England. They lecture around the world.
