John Wright (1568 - 1605) was a swordsman who was part of the original Catholic group who tried to blow up Parliament in 1605. He left the group halfway through the plot.

John Wright was born in Yorkshire. His brother Christopher Wright was also one of the conspirators. John was killed, along with his brother, in a firefight at Holbeache house in Staffordshire on 8th November 1605.
