John Weathers

John Patrick 'Pugwash' Weathers (born February 2, 1947), in Carmarthen, Carmarthanshire, South Wales, was the drummer for the innovative progressive rock band Gentle Giant.
Before joining Gentle Giant, Weathers was a member of the final line-up of Pete Brown & Piblokto!. He took over as the drummer on Gentle Giant's Octopus and remained with them until their last album Civilian. He was well-liked by fans for his distinctive hard-bashing style. He also some times played vibes and xylophone, among other instruments.
Weathers went on to play in the progressive rock band Man from 1983 to 1996, and as of 2006 has been playing with Wild Turkey.
Weathers is also a keen ornithologist.
