John W. Gunn Middle School

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

John W. Gunn Middle School, originally John W. Gunn Junior High School, is part of River East Transcona School Division in Winnipeg, Manitoba. It was built in 1966 and named in honour of highly respected long-time Transcona resident and trustee John W. Gunn, who gave a lifetime of service to the development of both educational and civic life in Transcona.

Gunn was the grandson of the well-known historian, Donald Gunn, one of the original Selkirk Settlers who reached the Red River of the North in 1812.
