John Vertue

John Vertue (April 28, 1826 – May 23, 1900) was the first Roman Catholic Bishop of Portsmouth, from July 25, 1882 until his death. He was succeeded by John Baptist Cahill.
Vertue was a student at St. Edmund's College, Ware between 1845 and 1848.
