John L. Turner (born November 30, 1967, in Washington, D.C.) is an American former professional basketball player who was selected by the Houston Rockets in the 1st round (20th overall) of the 1991 NBA Draft. A 6'8" power forward from Allegany Community College and Phillips University, Turner played in only one NBA season. He played for the Rockets during the 1991-92 NBA season, appearing in 42 games and averaging 2.8 points per game.
