John Sinclair (environmentalist)

John Sinclair (born July 13, 1939 in Maryborough, Queensland, Australia) received the Global 500 Roll of Honour award in 1990[1], and was awarded the Goldman Environmental Prize in 1993.[2] Fraser Island is the largest sand island in the world, and was added to the World Heritage List in 1992. Sinclair fought for 30 years to protect this island, and succeeded to stop logging of the island's rainforest, and sand mining from multinational corporations.
