John Scriver

John Scriver was a military officer. As a major, he fought against the second uprising of the Lower Canada Rebellions as he commanded the volunteer Loyal forces in the Battle of Lacolle, on November 7, 1838. The Patriote rebels had won a first skirmish of November 6 but lost the final confrontation the next day. He possibly is the John Scriver that was the father of politician Julius Scriver.
