John Sachs

John Sachs (born 1957) is a British voiceover and commentator known for his narration on the original series of Gladiators and as a long time DJ on London's Capital Radio

Sachs has been involved in the entertainment industry for the past 25 years. He has been a radio and television broadcaster for 17 years with 12 of those years spent on Capital Radio, where he won numerous awards, namely Variety Club ILR Presenter of the years and Silver at the World Radio awards in New York. Other radio stations include Jazz FM (now Smooth FM), BBC Radio 2, and Y100 in Florida, United States. His television credits include Gladiators, Four Square, Take Your Pick, and The Brian Conley Show. He has also worked on a variety of television and radio adverts.

Sachs founded Talking Heads Productions in 1993, making television and radio commercials for such clients as the Sunday Express, the Daily Express, Peugeot, Brands Hatch, MCA Records, HDC and Laross Hair Products. He is developing Television projects such as a spin of Fawlty Towers starring his father Andrew Sachs for ITV[citation needed], a documentary series for United, a big budget game show for ITV and a light entertainment series based around television chefs the Nosh Brothers also for ITV[citation needed]. He has helped cast for the Talking Books series by Telstar Records. He has put together a number of large sponsorship deals for radio networks including "Select - A -Call", "Lets Talk About Sex" and "The Buzz" for the GWR Group. Sachs has been music supervisor on a number of films including "The Merchant of Venice starring Al Pacino, Jeremy Irons, and Joseph Fiennes[1] where he secured the talents of the New Zealand soprano Hayley Westenra and the counter tenor Andreas Scholl. He was asked to be music supervisor for the cancelled Johnny Depp/Marlon Brando film "Divine Rapture".[citation needed]

Sachs is group programme controller and director of INB Holdings which owns Resort Radio, Retail Radio, Cruise FM and Holiday FM which has English speaking radio stations through out Europe and the Mediterranean.

Sachs started Talking Heads Voice Agency in 1992 and which includes Patsy Kensit, Fenella Fielding, Gary Martin and himself on its roster.

He co-founded Blackburn Sachs Associates which, includes, Steve Rider, Lisa I'Anson, David Jensen, Jonathan Pearce, Chris Eubank, Lauren Booth and Sonia on its books.

John did not return for the new series of Gladiators, however he does the voiceover for the Wii video game console sponsorship announcements during the show.
