John Alfred Roper (born October 4, 1965 in Houston, Texas) was an American football linebacker in the National Football League for the Chicago Bears, the Dallas Cowboys, and the Philadelphia Eagles. He played college football at Texas A&M University. He is perhaps best known for falling asleep at a team meeting while a member of the Dallas Cowboys in 1993. He was immediately placed on waivers.
