John Richardson Selwyn

John Richardson Selwyn (1844-1898) was the second Bishop of Melanesia, serving from 1877 to 1892. He was the son of Sarah Richardson and George Augustus Selwyn, first Bishop of New Zealand. He made significant financial contributions along with others to the construction of the Southern Cross (ship).
Selwyn is listed in the Calendar of saints (Church of the Province of Melanesia).
