John Richardson (cricketer)

John Allan Richardson was a first class cricketer who played 7 matches for Yorkshire County Cricket Club between 1936 and 1947 and once for the Gentlemen against the Players in 1934. He also played for Yorkshire Second XI from 1930 to 1937.

He was born on August 4, 1908 in Sleights, Yorkshire and died on April 2, 1985 in Scarborough, Yorkshire. A right hand batsman, he scored 343 runs with a best of 61 against M.C.C. at an average of 31.18 and took 4 catches. He also scored 54* against Sussex CCC. He took two wickets with his off breaks, at an average of 54, both scalps coming against the Royal Air Force.
