John Richards (April 13, 1765 - April 18, 1850) was a United States Representative from New York.
Richards was born in Wales on April 13, 1765 and later immigrated to the United States and settled in Johnsburg, New York, where he received a limited schooling. He was a member of the New York State Assembly from January 29, 1811 to April 8, 1811, state surveyor from 1810 to 1812, and delegate to the state constitutional convention in 1821.
Richards was elected as a Crawford Democratic-Republican to the 18th United States Congress serving from March 4, 1823 to March 3, 1825. He died at Lake George, New York on April 18, 1850.
