John Relish

John Relish (born 5th October 1953 in Huyton, Knowsley, Lancashire) is an English football manager and former player, currently managing Blue Square South side Bath City He has held his current position since June 2005. He was also involved in the coaching setup which oversaw Wales win in the non-league Four nations tournament in 2006.
Relish began his playing career as a schoolboy with Liverpool before joining nearby Chester. He left in 1974 to spent the next thirteen years of his career playing for Newport County. He moved again, this time joining Forest Green Rovers, in 1987, but was back two seasons later at Newport County as player-manager of the newly reformed team. Then into his late thirties his playing days looked to be nearing an end.
After retiring from playing he moved on to be assistant manager of Weston-super-Mare and took full charge of the club in 1998. He was sacked in October 2001 but became assistant manager at Merthyr Tydfil in 2002. He became Merthyr's manager in 2003 and moved on to manage Bath City before the start of the 2005-2006 season. Next season, Relish oversaw City's first Championship for 29 years to achieve promotion to Blue Square South.
