John Rattray is a professional skateboarder, originally from Scotland. He was raised in Aberdeen, the 3rd largest city in Scotland, where he was often to be found skating at the city's Westburn Park. He is allegedly one of the few (or only) professional skateboarders to graduate from college, having studied physics at Glasgow University. John initially turned professional for the British company Blueprint Skateboards. In 2001, he started to skate for the American company Zero Skateboards and was the second rider to feature in their film "Dying to Live". He has also appeared in other Zero videos such as "New Blood" and "Promo".
He has also appeared in other skate videos including a rookie's section on 411, Transworld's "Videoradio", and "H'Min Bam".
Rattray had his first outing in the video-game market in the 2007 console game entitled skate.
