John R. Drake

John Reuben Drake (November 28, 1782 - March 21, 1857) was a U.S. Representative from New York.

Born in Pleasant Valley, New York, Drake completed preparatory studies. He engaged in mercantile and agricultural pursuits. He was Supervisor of the town of Owego in 1813 and first judge of Broome County 1815-1823. He served as member of the State assembly 1817-1819.

Drake was elected as a Democratic-Republican to the Fifteenth Congress (March 4, 1817-March 3, 1819). He served as judge of the court of common pleas for Tioga County 1833-1838. He served as member of the State assembly in 1834. He served as president of Owego village 1841-1845. He died in Owego, New York, on March 21, 1857. He was interred in Evergreen Cemetery.
