John Proby (16 January 1639-14 November 1710), was a British Member of Parliament.

Proby was the son of Sir Heneage Proby and his wife Ellen (née Allen). Sir Peter Proby, Lord Mayor of London in 1652, was his grandfather and Sir Thomas Proby, 1st Baronet, his brother. He was a barrister and also represented Huntingdonshire in the House of Commons from 1693 to 1695, 1698 to 1702 and 1708 to 1710. Proby married Jane, daughter of Sir Richard Cust, 1st Baronet, and died in November 1710, aged 71.
