John Petrovato

John Petrovato is a former Director of the Institute for Anarchist studies and co-organizer of the annual Renewing the Anarchist Tradition (RAT) conference. The RAT conference that he and Cindy Milstein co-organizes seeks to provide a scholarly space in which to both reexamine and reinvigorate the social and political tradition of anarchism. He has been a long-time anarchist organizer and involved in numerous projects. Much of his recent writings have focused on his human rights work in Israel/Palestine. His field reports have appeared in Peace Under Fire: Israel, Palestine, and the International Solidarity Movement published by Verso Press and Live from Palestine: International and Palestinian Direct Action Against the Israeli Occupation published by South End Press.
