John Petroski

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

John Petroski is a former Opinion Editor at The Recorder, a student-produced newspaper at Central Connecticut State University. He was known for writing controversial editorial pieces during his time at The Recorder. On February 7, 2007, he wrote an editorial piece entitled "Rape Only Hurts If You Fight It," a self-proclaimed satirical piece that details all the allegedly positive things that had occurred because of rape. The article provoked a massive outcry, both at the campus and across the internet, and while Petroski expressed his regret for the article, it ultimately resulted in his termination from The Recorder when he refused to resign "out of principle."
