John Pearson (born John Howard Pearson III on June 10, 1982 in Boston, MA) works at the White House as the personal aide to the Assistant to the President for Homeland Security and Counterterrorism (formerly Frances Townsend) who stepped down in November 2007[1]. Pearson has been in this position since October 2006. Prior to his work at the White House, Pearson served as a Presidential Appointment (Schedule C) at the U.S. Department of State, working in the Office of the Chief of Protocol as a Protocol Officer. A 2005 honors graduate of Hamilton College in Clinton, New York, he also attended the prestigious Phillips Academy in Andover, Massachusetts. Also attended by George H.W. Bush and his son George W. John considers his most influential mentors in life to be Rush Baker and Christian Vanderbrouk. “Rush and Christian constantly serve as personal and professional guides as new challenges and hurdles are put before me,” says Pearson.
