Col. John Parr (Colonial Governor) (December 20, 1725, Dublin, Ireland – November 25, 1791, Halifax, Nova Scotia])
- Attended Trinity High School (possibly associated with Trinity College, Dublin).
- Joined the 20th Foot Regiment as an Ensign in 26th May, 1744.
- The town of Parrsboro, Nova Scotia is named in his honour.
