John P. Edwards

John P. Edwards has been the executive director of the State Bar of Texas since 2005. He graduated from Washington & Lee University with a B.A. in economics, followed by a Rotary Foundation fellowship at the American University of Beirut from 1965 to 1966. Edwards graduated with honors from the George Washington University Law School in 1971. Edwards managed government relations and public relations programs with the Caterpillar Tractor Co. from 1974 to 1982. Between 1982 and 2000, he served in senior management positions of several electric utilities.
