John Wesley Owens (born January 10, 1980 in Washington, D.C.) is an American football tight end for the Detroit Lions of the National Football League. He was originally drafted by the Lions in the fifth round of the 2002 NFL Draft. He played college football at Notre Dame.
Between stints with the Lions, Owens was a member of the Chicago Bears, Miami Dolphins, Cleveland Browns and New Orleans Saints.
