John Owen (cricketer)

John Owen (born August 7, 1971) was an English cricketer. He was a right-handed batsman and a right-arm off-break bowler. He represented Derbyshire between 1994 and 1999.
Owen first played cricket during the 1994 season, where he made his debut in the Second XI against Lancashire. From then on, he played consistently in the Second XI Championship, and made several appearances at first-class level. With a highest first-class score of 105, one of only two centuries he made for the team, he often played as an opening batsman.
Owen played first-class cricket until 1997, and played for Derbyshire CB for the last time in 2002. His father, David, was also a cricketer for the Derbyshire Second XI during the early part of the 1970s.
