John Oponjo Benjamin

John Oponjo Benjamin (born 29 November 1952 in Segbwema, Bo District, Sierra Leone) is a Sierra Leonean economist and politician from the Mende ethnic group. Benjamin was the chairman of the Council of State Secretaries in 1992. Since 2002, Benjamin has been the Minister of Finance of Sierra Leone. During that period, Benjmain helped lead Sierra Leone through the Paris Club's 100% debt cancellation program.
