John Odom is a minor league baseball player notable for being involved in a highly unusual baseball transaction: he was traded for ten baseball bats.[1]
Odom, a right-handed pitcher, signed with the Calgary Vipers of the Golden Baseball League, but an unspecified criminal record prevented his entry into Canada. The Vipers traded him to the Laredo Broncos of the United League for ten maple bats retailing for $65.50 each.[2]
