John Edward Nisby (born September 9, 1936 in San Francisco, California) is a former American football guard who played eight seasons in the National Football League. In 1962, he became the first black player to play for the Washington Redskins, the last team in the NFL to integrate.[citation needed] He was selected by the Green Bay Packers in the 1957 NFL Draft. Nisby played college football at the University of the Pacific.
