John Neill (born 17 August 1987, in Coatbridge) is a Scottish professional footballer, currently unattached.
A combative central midfielder, Neill started his senior career with Hearts, whome he joined from rivals Hibernian's youth initiative. He was loaned to Hamilton Academical between August and November 2006, making his senior professional debut, and also scoring, against Gretna in the Scottish Challenge Cup. He joined Raith Rovers, managed by former Hearts coach John McGlynn, again on loan, in early 2007.
Neill was released from his Hearts' contract on August 31, 2007.[1]
He then played the remainder of the 07/08 season at Queen's Park, where he impressed and secured a place in the first team squad.
