John Morgan (1886 -1957) served as Bishop of Swansea and Brecon (1934 -1939) and subsequently as Bishop of Llandaff (1939-1957), in which post he also became Archbishop of Wales (1949 -1967).[1]
Morgan was born in Llandudno.[1] Before being elevated to Bishop, he had been Vicar of Llanbeblig and Caernarfon. Firmly attached to the policies of Archbishop Green he was a meticulous upholder of Anglo-Catholic principles. He witnessed the bombing of Llandaff cathedral in January 1941 and presided over the earlier stages of its reconstruction.
Morgan was unmarried.
