John F. McLean (born June 12, 1878) was the head football coach at Missouri from 1903 to 1905. His record at Missouri stands at 9-17-1. He had better success at Knox College, where he compiled a 15-5-3 record from 1901 to 1903. He played college football at Michigan.

Mclean was the 11th head college football coach for the University of Missouri–Columbia Tigers located in Columbia, Missouri and he held that position for three seasons, from 1903 until 1905. His career coaching record at Missouri was 9 wins, 17 losses, and 1 ties. This ranks him 17th at Missouri in total wins and 27th at Missouri in winning percentage. [1]
