John McCormack (American boxer)

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

John McCormack was an African American small-time boxer and bareknuckle street fighter prominent in the mid-1980s.

McCormack was based in New York City, said to be extremely vicious and unorthodox, and allegedly fought in bouts organized by the Mafia. He was known as the "Irishman" due to his very Irish name.

McCormack lasted three minutes in a bout against the British bareknuckle fighter, Lenny McLean.
