John McAteer (b. 5 January 1933 - d. February 1977) was National Organiser of the Scottish National Party (SNP) from 1968 - 1977. He organised the campaign for the successful election to the United Kingdom House of Commons of Winifred Ewing in 1967.
He died in February 1977, aged 44, and is survived by his wife and four sons.
