John Matthews is the British author of six books: Basikasingo (1982), Crescents of the Moon (1984), Past Imperfect (1999), The Last Witness (2002) The Shadow Chaser (2004) and 'Ascension Day' (2007).

The most noted of his books is probably Past Imperfect, which became an international beststeller and in 2004 was included in 'The Times' (London) list of all-time best legal thrillers. He was one of only two British authors in the list.

Past Imperfect is currently in development with Anagram Films of Canada (who co-produce and distribute with Lion's Gate), to be provisionally titled Borderland.
