John Madsen (born May 9, 1983) is an American football player who currently plays as a tight end for the Oakland Raiders. He was signed as an undrafted free agent in 2006 from the University of Utah. Originally a wide receiver, he was converted to tight end in order to make the team. He was the only undrafted free agent to make the Raiders' main 53-man squad in 2006.
He graduated in 2001 from Hunter High School in West Valley City, Utah having never played football. He played basketball in high school. He played college football for Snow College, his first organized team.
Madsen was a exclusive rights free agent in 2008. But the Raiders resigned him on March 21, 2008.
