John Lloyd Dickin

Lieutenant Colonel John Lloyd Dickin (1845-1927) was the son of Thomas Dickin, J.P.,D.L., of Loppington House, Loppington, Shropshire. He was a Major in the Shropshire Militia.
He was educated privately. He Served in Bengal with the 65th regiment and subsequently with the 61st regiment in Canada and in the Bombay presidency, Baluchistan and Malta.
Retired as Lieutenant Colonel in 1896 after having completed over thirty years service. Has traveled extensively (including New Zealand, Tasmania and Kashmir).
He Passed the government examination in the Russian language in 1888. He Was secretary in the Bombay district rifle meeting in 1869 and took part in Sir Martin Conway's expedition to the Karakoram Himalayas in 1892.
