John Little (footballer)

R. John Little (born in Calgary, Alberta, Canada) is a retired Scottish football defender who played for Queens Park, Rangers, Morton and the Scotland national team.
After starting his career with Queens Park, he made a total of 275 appearances for Rangers between 1951 and 1960, scoring once. His only ever goal for the club came in a 1-1 draw with Hamilton Academical in March 1954. During his time at Ibrox he won 4 League championship's and 2 Scottish Cup's. He left Rangers at the end of the 1961-62 season, moving to Morton where he finished his career.Johny,as he was known, grew up in Millport, Isle of Cumbrae,Scotland. From a very early age he always had a very strong constitution and plasyed all variations of football[three and in, headers etc.],and always was competitive,though not in an unpleasant way-a true sportsman. He now lives in Largs.
He won one cap for the Scotland national team, against Sweden in 1953.
